Hi dave,

How do you go changing the air filter with the ASE cooler pipe close to the air filter bracket? Looks a little close in some of the pics and only just noticed it then.

dave,

where did you get your pillar pod from?

Also, did you notice any performance improvement with the pre cleaner removed / snorkel change?

Cheers

It takes abit more effort to change but not alot to worth worrying about. The benifits of the cooler are worth the extra effort. On a hot day the engine still feels lively which it never use to.

The pillar pod I got from a mob in QLD, cant remember the name but it was $150. They can be had cheaper then that on ebay now though.

I wouldn't say a huge improvement by removing the pre-filter but it simplifies the intake and is sealed better.

The pre-filter had leaves and grasshoppers in it so was kinda starting to fill up.

Maybe I am imagining it but feels smoother when reving it out, I am not afraid of reving it out to 4000rpm.

That's right and there was a mob on this forum claiming they also sold them but they only offered up a few responses and then disappeared. If anyone does find someone other than the flebay mob selling them ask them when the hell they are going to do pods for the D40.

Hey dave, can u show me a photo of where you installed the EGT sensor into exhaust, im looking at doing mine soon and unsure where to put it

^ Sorry mate.

Missed your post.

Still need the pic ?

Anyways, turbo and lines have been payed for.

So do I.

Anyways I hit a dog or kangeroo last night so I have to take the ute to my brothers work to get the bullbar taken off and repaired.

100km/h hit left a nice dint in the bar and has pushed it slightly sideways.

"Narva 225 Ultima spotties....HID headlights and the Narva's have been converted to HID also" Lights weren't working Dave? To get the two confused it must have been a small roo or a bloody big dog! Hope the bar straightens up okay. Lucky for you - it could have been worse.

Lights were working good and still are.

I looked at the stereo screen and out of the corner of my eye I seen something running at me.

I swear it was a dog but the fur on the bullbar is like kangaroo fur.

Unless I hit something like a ridge back or something.

Pulled up and had a look at the ute. Not to much damage.

So grabbed a torch to have a look at what I hit and couldn't find anything.

Whatever it was I dont think it would of lived to long.

Gonna take my ute back to the mechanic who did the major service as I am not happy with the brakes.

They wont lock up like they use to under heavy braking.

Hah........a ridgeback would have kept on going mate - too tough for any old Navara bullbar!!

Ah well - so long as the damage isn't too bad.
