Why do they sell centre bearings for the d40 4x4 when there is none so i just found out today.even seen ads on here for them.

I've never seen one for my 2009. I've replaced universal joints, been through those a few times but you'd expect that given the mileage we do!

Can you return the item?

Check your unis: underneath the car, give your front and rear drive shafts a wiggle. They shouldn't move at all. The front drive shaft can be an issue: it will turn over as the car moves, the front hubs are always locked and only the transfer case locks/unlocks the 4WD.

Hi tony. I will see if i can return it. Or just sell it online .was only 60 bucks.
I checked back one and theres a little circular movement of shaft but none i can see in the joints itself .didnt do the front one as i thought that it wouldnt turn out of 4wd. Ill check it.
Thanks mate.

+1 on the universal joints. The front UJs can definitely cause vibration at high speed.
It feels very much like a wheel balance issue.
I've replaced the UJs twice in 360,000km.
Non-genuine though, the original UJs lasted a lot longer than the aftermarket ones.

Hi mate .yep thats excatly what wi feels like exept steering wheel not vibrating.
Do you remember what unis you bought or have a link for any good ones or would it be just better to get OEM ones.

I don't remember what unis I bought, it's been a while.
I would recommend OEM if they're affordable though.
The aftermarket ones I've had do not allow a grease nipple to fitted, there just isn't enough room.
To the best of my memory, the originals had grease nipples and they certainly lasted roughly twice as long as the first aftermarket unis.
