New shoes and alignment ! Absolutely stoked! So much better than the crappy duelers.

Today I got stuck in and finally replaced my front brake discs and pads, which also included repacking the front wheel bearings. Changed brakes on other cars heaps of times previously, but wheel bearings was a first. Just took it slow and so far I think I did ok. Anyone thinking of trying this themselves, definitely make sure you have circlip pliers. I spent ages taking the circlips off and on without circlip pliers. Do-able but a pain in the ass. Also make sure you have plenty of clean rags, bit of a messy job.

Also found some LED bulbs to replace the standard bulbs in my autometer gauges, so spent a few minutes installing them, not sure how well they will work, but Ill test them out when it gets a bit darker.

Also, thanks to 4WD Action I received a set of WetSeat front seat covers with my recent subscription renewal, so I threw them on as well. Come up good, and help to protect the front seats a bit. They are a universal set so not a perfect fit, but they work.

So yeah, pretty productive day on the old girl.

Good job on the wheel bearings. I done mine a little while ago. But the ones for the d40 are a sealed unit so a fair bit easier and less mess.
The ones on the boat trailer are a different story though...
Nice seat covers by the way.

Here is a photo of the gauges with the new LED bulbs. Very happy with how they look. And the bulbs were only $12 from supercheap 👍

Broke some unknown suspensionish part while driving down a carpark ramp on my way home causing the front right of my car to drop down to just above the wheel...

Anyone know what this doovalacky is?

I can't jack her up and get a good look. It's snapped some sort of rod. The piece I found is 200mm long approx. And snapped on the non threaded end. The threaded part is about 100m long

All good. Found it... It's the bolt thingy at the rear end of the torsion bar majigy

Here is the ok one

replaced timing chain/guides/ sprockets/tensioners and all that stuff - new clutch / main seal / spigot bearing and bush / machined fly wheel and then when it was all going perfectly like a new car it went into limp mode = replaced bell housing crank position sensor - what a drama -- all good now ---looks like i done nuffin

Yep, that'd be the torsion bar adjuster. Hope you don't have too much fun replacing that lol

I ain't got the time, knowledge, tools or patience for mechanical issues so I had it towed to my local trusty mechanic and he'll sort it out.
