Today, I spent the day discussing, with myself, the pros and cons of building a 10m x 5m annexe/garage/workshop onto the side of my bus, before winter.
This was brought about by the realisation that what started as a short term project, then (as the parts/repair list grew) became a medium term project, has now become a long term project due to the purchase of a compression tester and the test results from it. No 1 - 149psi, No 3 - 150psi, No 5 - 75psi, didn't bother with 2, 4 and 6.
Repair list now goes something like, replace all suspension bushes front and rear, including new weld in washers for rear strut rod mounts.
New cat back exhaust system.
New upper and lower ball joints, new rubber boots, new shocks all round, new gearbox mount.
New brake shoes, slave cylinders, seals and shim lsd in replacement rear diff, check if lsd in existing rear(C200) noisy diff will fit front diff.
Replace door hinge pins and bushes, remove under dash a/c and associated hardware, remove dash and repair heater controls, get broken seat springs replaced, replace vinyl floor, apply sound deadening to firewall, floor, doors and back wall so I can hear wireless when it's purchased and fitted, fit new steering wheel.
Work out why the freshly straightened speedo needle reads 20 kph above actual.
Remove surface rust and repaint floor of tub.
Purchase and fit reco series 1 vn motor, clutch, pressure plate and thrust bearing, probably should replace gearbox synchros at same time.
After rego fit bull bar, extra lights and twin Stebels.
And probably a few etceteras that I haven't found yet.
