hi all.. just dropping in to say hello'
i am from sydney and are new to four wheel driving.
i have just sold my sv6 ve commodore for a 2007 navara four wheel drive which i love and are looking forward to trying out on some tracks this weekend hopefully.
i was also wondering if any of you have any idea what sort of fuel consumption i should be getting city/ highway use.it is a automatic and i was advised that when driving around town to have the over drive off to help with fuel consumption.,,as it seems very heavy on fuel.
thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

For what it is, the Navara is fairly good on fuel. It's a heavy brick, no very aerodynamic at all. Expect to get around 10-12LPHK on a highway and 12-14LPHK in the city. It does depend on how excited you get with the right foot when there's a dropkick in a ricer at the lights beside you!

I wouldn't worry about the overdrive. I leave mine on all the time, and let the car make the decision about what gear to be in. It's supposed to be capable of managing it - fine, that's why I bought an automatic!

Welcome Rottie

If you've never done any 4 wheel driving before then I'd suggest visiting your local 4 wheel drive club or at least going for a run with an experienced 4 wheel driver before tacking any serious 4 wheel driving.

Welcome Rottie, lots of good stuff on here. You can learn something everyday. Treat it well when you have some fun and it will look after you.

hi.. yes its a d40.. i love driving it and sometimes its even hard to get the missus from behind the wheel..lol.
i recently went down to the wombeyan caves from mittagong end and did some light off road stuff there. i was really suprised how much power it has and are looking forward to take it off road on the next long weekend..my recent fuel figures for the trip was i used 49.70 liters for 312 kms travel {included highway and off road usauge},, so i fugired i was getting 16liters per 100 kms? out of a possible full tank?..
