Front mount intercooler

Hi all I have just recently purchased a 06 model d22, I am looking at putting a front mounted intercooler on, any tips and suggestions would be much appreciated

theres a few kits still around. eg forefront. there should be a few reviews and write ups on them.

I bought my front mount intercooler from a wreckers. Everything for $500. Don’t know ho made the kit originally

yeh mine is forefront industries BIG kit (without winch) model. Overall pretty happy with it.

I have been contemplating installing a front mount intercooler myself and have noticed in a couple of zd30 videos ( top mount and front mount ) while them working on other things saying they just got cheap chinese intercoolers and never had any issue??? Was thinking of doing this myself as even if it doesn't flow the best at least all the piping is done and looking at pricing you can get everything for $300-$400

also got to factor in your time for example for these cheaper kits have they factored in re positioning of the MAP sensor?, also when you can't align up the piping have you the skills/tooling to be able to rectify this. Even with a quality kit there can be a certain amount of re work involved in "making things fit".
