Yep started up all sweet this morning in the cold at 13 deg ambient temp. Must have a dry join in my modified ecu. So my navara is back to being reliable but it's now a slug

No custom ECU for me then if that's how they behave!

The instrument cluster shares an earth with the stereo, and an poorly earthed stereo means a poorly earthed instrument cluster which then means all sorts of unpredictable things could happen, including messing with the tacho signal.

In all honesty the modified ecu was running great for probably the last year. Very random that only now I am having problems. I took it back to the guy who did it originally and he said he will reflow the joins and test it. I'll just carry my spare ecu when I go to the cape in July haha, just a back up
