I can ship these anywhere in Aus, but i find doing so can be a real pain in the ass

Couldn't agree more, which is why I don't push for sales interstate, let the ebay boffins have the shipping all to themselves.

bloody hell!
3.5K to play games?
thats serious coin for entertainment.
I got the Wii fired up this arvo with Resident Evil. Even that with the DLP Projector and mid level 5.1 comes in way underneath that cost...not having a crack at your price, moreso those that take it that seriously!

I'm with you on this one....for games its, Xbox, Wii or PS..

wouldnt touch a pc for gaming, IMHO.

Even at the prices I can buy Xbox's for I wouldn't consider a pissy console over a PC for gaming, but then I'd have to be a gamer to be interested in either.

Never underestimate the gamer-nerd's need to have the latest, greatest, fastest, cryogenically cooled copper-faced supercharged Agnus, Denise and Paula.

(Only a serious - and aged - nerd will understand this. If you don't, you aren't missing out on anything and explaining it won't make it funnier, just accept it as if Robin Williams said it, chuckle and move on to the next thread).

still wouldnt touch a pc for gaming....as always, todays $3500 pc is 2moro's antiquated obsolete junk.

Havent found the need to upgrade my "gaming nerd" kids console's every 3 months, unlike a pc that needs upgrading everytime a new game is released, Pfffft.

anyway, obviously my nerdy opinion.

:cheers!:

People only upgrade because they believe what they don't fully understand, anyone who thinks they need a $3500 machine to play games or thinks that their machine needs upgrading every 12 months because of a new game would probably believe a D40 is better than a D22 because it costs more.

r u trying to say todays game has been written to work on last years pc???

I've not yet been able to get todays games work on my old dos machine, do they make drivers for dvd drives in dos? and what about my huge amount ram....4 x .5mb cards, 60Mb HDD and 33mhz286, but then the 286 is good enough to run the space shuttle so it should play todays games.....

LOL way to pick on the most expensive machine there guys, let me just say there has been some valid comments, but only a true "nerd" would understand the value, its like putting oh i don't know, Triple SKU webbers on a 1.8l Corolla, adds little value to the car but you doit because YOU can. If however you noticed the other machines, i believe they are good value, well much better value then you could get from DSE or Hnorman, Clive P etc. And that's what i set out to achieve, give friends and family an alternative place to have a decent machine built for them at a realistic price, the big gamer is for ppl who simply must have the best for no other reason then because they can. Besides i tried to add a heap of helpful info on the site as well the give ppl the knowledge required to purchase their next machine.

But the thread gave me some good LOLZ

Nah...all good mate,

just picking on purely a high end gamer v game console, not so much what your selling,
though yes, you have "normal" machines on your list.

:cheers!:

The problem with good value versus DSE/Hardley Normal crap is that too many people still buy crap from boxed retailers because they think it's cheaper, then come crying back to the independent seller when they get treated like crap. Back in the 90's when I first started selling the things fly by nighter shops were the biggest problem in the industry, now it's the big corporations who buy big sell cheap and have no idea how to support it that are the issue. Thankfully most businesses know they can't trust the likes of DSE and HN to keep their pc's running so they rely on independents and when it comes to support like that it's better bread and butter than retail sales of any kind.

The whole key to this is retailers etc are there for the average person who has no idea, or doesn't want to know how to build a computer etc. Its not hard! Do your research, buy your parts, put it together and have immense satisfaction when it all boots up knowing you have done it yourself, and saved $$$$.

As I said though, this isn't for everyone, :cheers!:

And have the hammer ready to smash the **** out of it if it doesn't work.

It does if they want to make money. It is actually amazing how much crap gamers will accept in online games.

DOS is so last century, which reminds me to make sure I keep some old motherboards for when I feel like another game of Warlords again. <wonder if the floppies can still be read>.

+1. For myself, I've never purchased any brand name computer. Always buy yumcha/smorgasboard bits and pieces.

That's why they invented Windows For Workgroups to leave DOS behind

And that was so clever wasn't it <what a load of tripe it has all turned out to be>

At that stage I was actually lucky enough to have Novell's Peer to Peer network. Bloody marvellous compared to WfWGs(six boot up options depending on which computers you wanted to link it to today).
