Yeah Bendix eats up the rotors like nobody's business. Great braking but a bit more noise and have to visit the machine shop more often

@Dave
Yeah all part of aging I am told. The young uns seem to take to touchscreen stuff more eagerly. Tend to go like Krafty said, a phone should be a phone, a laptop a laptop, camera a camera, a beer a beer (not light beer) etc.

Most things no, except for LG whitegoods:rant:, computer video cards I do, used to stick with toyotas until the last car ... :rant:

It also depends on the sales/support, if I get looked after then I'm more likely to repeat my decision.

I'm generally not brand loyal, I do my research and buy the best tool for the job, often that's the same brand as the last thing I bought, in cars I'm a bit of a Ford guy, Oh and I love my nav . Most other things it dosed matter as long as it works, on clothing , I can't stand designer label overpriced rubbish and will not wear anything with a large label or logo on it..!

I'm brand loyal for stuff that works, but it depends on the area whether I buy a particular brand;
computers are always yumchaa, except adaptec scsi cards(hides others),
mobile phones are OPs(whatever I'm given)
electronics are, um, what has what i want without an ipod slot, etc

Decided long ago being brand loyal was as useless as pissing in the pants because eventually you get pissed on by the brand(crap quality or $$$).

Great poll this is interesting.

I am only brand loyal when it comes to tools. I am a carpenter and have been in the industry for 5years. Yes I know not long, but my power tools have to be top shape and good quality and tried and tested before I make a decision. My saws are makita so 7.5" and 9 1/4" power saw. Drills and all of my drills from cordless to power include hammer drill are all Hitachi they are best in the game to me. Back to saws my drop saw us Hitachi cause at the time it pissed all over makita so it got first option and it hasn't missed a beat since. All other accessories I buy what's good quality and reasonable price.

For the cars its whatever is reasonable price with quality to match. I hate goin to tjm and arb cause its overpriced crap sometimes. EBay is my friend and dam you can get some great quality stuff from there.

So only something I'm loyal but other stuff as stated before clothes/ shoes etc I don't really care. The wife buys it for me so I don't have to shop.

Cheers

Have to agree with Hitachi being top notch. I bought a Hitachi disc sander probably 6 years ago..top tool and has not missed a beat.

Greg, Bendix pads for the D22 are woeful.

You get brake shuddering and overheated disks quick and no brake feel whatsoever.

I had em in for 5000km's and put genuine pads back in. Heaps better braking.

I agree that Bendix are not for everything, the reality is that the formula is very complex, from disc hardness, operating heat, vehicle weight etc and generally genuine are best as the pad and disc are designed to operate together for a specific vehicle. however "Generally Speaking" Bendix are a quality product for many applications and i can assure you there is some absolute Schitte cheapies out there. Point taken though, i will probably fit genuine to mine if they ever need to be replaced, having done 13000km in the first year, it will be a while.

Regards
Greg
