It's funny hearing truckies talk about the Pilliga Yowie and how scary the PIlliga is to drive through... I grew up on the south side of the Pilliga (between Coonabarabran and Baradine) and spent most of my childhood weekends camping, fishing and shooting out there... never found it scary... then I heard stories after I left home and last time I went back it kinda freaked me out a bit... all mental
Not often Dave but most of my trips were west from here not north, you hear a few stories now and again about different stretches of road but stories like the one in The Boy in the Aerodyne that don't necessarily relate to one road seem to get talked about more in the circles I traveled.
The movie Black Dog started another wave of similar stories. I never saw a black dog (other than that wild dog wandering around near the Nullabour roadhouse) but I've seen plenty of other real animals and hit them.....I'm going to write a movie called Red Kangaroo and it can be a aussie sequel to Black Dog.
I went out this arvo and I forgot to even turn the music on, guess I should change my "what's playing" to "what I forgot to play"
Dave there was a thread about 12 months ago something about what music people play while 4WD-ing, since you've got nothing better to do compare the threads and see how people's tastes have changed.
Urge overkill "Saturation" Album blown the dust off that and also a bit of Pumpkins. Urge are releasing a new album next month after 15 years....not hopeful of anything spectacular but you never know. Re-union albums are never much good.
That fella up the front with the dreds... that was me 10 ten years ago....and now look at me sitting here on a friday night reliving it all through you tube ....sigh...
