I have a tub canopy at the moment but I'm deciding on whether to take it off and get a tub rack. The reason for this is to get easier access to the back of my car as i can only access it from the back and not the side, ii also want to chuck a camping bed on top of the rack. But with this means i can't have electrical system at the back as there is no protection from the weather outside. Can i please have some help and your guys opinion on this and maybe see your guys setup to get a better idea. Cheers.

tub rack for me. i wouldn't run the sides on it though just a rack on the top to strap stuff onto.
i'm fairly minimalistic though. swag, esky, gazebo, just the basics.

what sort of electrical system do you want to run? maybe you can fit it in a toolbox or space case in the tub somewhere.

canopy with draws might appeal to some, but they weigh a lot and dont exactly have a lot of space but they do make that space easy to access when your fully loaded.

yeh thanks nah honestly the only thing it will be powering is a phone charger when im parked and a fridge i got and thats all nothing crazy but i was only scared the weather outside could fry my eletrical and thats all but nah im only simplistic too but thank you.

What sort and style Nav do you have?
If its a dual cab and you treat it as a two seater the you could fold up/ down or remove the rear seat and build your electrics into the there. Sitting your fridge on a flat platform and running the 12v out or back into the tub.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the tub rack.
Canopy kinda guy all the way.
There is limits- whatever you choose, your limited in one way or another.

Let us know how you go and what you decide
