Yeh good point. However I've already been to supercheap and got the relay, 25amp wire (thought I would up the wire as the wire provided with the light is pretty heavy duty) and connectors. I've still wired it to the the high beam signal, which is also wired to the spotties, which are already wired to a switch in the cab. I thought that if the rain or fog is that bad, I would be turning off my spotties too and probably just use high beams. So in the end the spotties and light bar will be still operated by a switch, just not separately. I can live with that.

Thanks for your input. Next time make sure you reply as soon as I post, I probably would have got the switch if you had have replied immediately. Hahaha. Jokes mate. Cheers. Now I've just gotta replace the 10amp wire I put in yesterday and I'm done.

Haha smart ass! Sounds like you got it under control now, next time watch YouTube before you do a project it helps guide you especially if your not sure.. Btw maybe if you were my bitch you would have listened from the start! Lol Jk Man U asked for it back lol

All done now. Sitting here having a coffee with everything turned on for 10 minutes making sure nothing gets too hot. It looks fine so far.

I appreciate your advise bro, it's not that I don't know how to do wiring, just chasing opinions of other people about they would do it as there is usually a few options out there. And yep, ended up doing as you first suggested. Cheers.

Now my high beam and spotties look so dull compared to the light bar.

Looks god man, I'm gonna have to sort out my wires when I get home from my trip

Yeh nah, I'm not spending anymore coin on lighting, now that I've got a 40inch bar on the front and a 12inch on the rear.

Went for the test drive but only around my suburb. Pretty bright. It's hard to tell just how good it is yet. My main reason for having it is for night driving (obviously) when camping or 4wding. I didn't get it purely for highway driving. It does put out a good spread on both sides and to the front. Not too sure on the distance that it reaches out front.

I didn't get any reflections back into the cab. I suppose the most noticeable part of the light is how it lights across the windscreen. It's hard to describe but it sort of whitens it. It didnt seem like a big problem on my short drive. Tomorrow il angle it up a little bit and see if that makes a difference on the windscreen and coverage out the front.

I have mine angled up slightly to avoid bonnet reflection, however mine does sit on my roof rack which is located just forward of the centre pillar.

I found that the spread of light is good out to 300m and really helps finding those Roos that like to jump out in front of you at night.

Also I found that when doing tracks at night I only use my light bar now as it provides 90% of the light up close and I don't need the long range capabilities of my XGT's

Yeh I think with the wide spread it puts out I will also angle mine up a little bit.

What to do now?

Finally replaced my windscreen this morning. Not gonna do anything more to the Nav until i get back from my trip, goes in for a service early next week then I leave on the following Sunday

Gunbarrell highway then straight down the guts to israelite bay then home via esperance and albany

Rather than start a new thread I'll just keep it in here. I am going to chuck 2 work lights and a light bar up on my basket and use this sucker to handle wiring on the roof.

I'll be running 6mm sq wire up there (not sure how yet) and wiring each light to a channel. Will have an anderson plug just before the receiver so i can detach it from the car battery and connect it up to my deep cycle when i'm camping and to also easily remove the rack when i need to.

I'll try and take photos as im installing and chuck up on here.

Do you guys know of anywhere that do a good quality distribution board for the Nav?? or one that can be used for the Nav?. Just bought a light bar and want to clean my wiring up.

cheers Steve

Narva make fuses bus bars that take standard blade fuses. All models take up to 150A from memory.

Thanks Screamin i was thinking more along the line of 1 positive in and multiple outs. This would allow me to run 1 live wire to a spare area under the bonnet (or anywhere i guess) then run all the other lives wires from there, cleaning up the battery and lengths of wire under the bonnet.

That's what the narva product is. I plan to use that to provide fused power to my consumer relays and have the switching taken care of by a bank of switches inside the cab. I think I will modify the console where the ash trays are and delete them, using the accessory feed for the cigarette lighter as the switching power for the relay themselves.
