Hi all - had a weird experience up on the crooked river track last month - the rear brakes basically stopped working and when applied, the would just brrrrrr - is in vibrate/stutter at a high rate rather loudly (in the car at least). From there I got all the way up and back down to Drago and the rear drums were barely warm - clearly doing not much - BUT they did come back to normal after some fairly aggressive brake applications. Which was good because we planned on doing (and did) billy goats....!
When I got back home I took it to a brake place and they said everything was fine - but the rear shoes were somewhat 'glazed' - possibly from the water?
Has any one heard or preferably seen this happen before? I have done plenty 'in the water' but the first time they have reacted like that. Is there a way to avoid it?
As an aside, we did crooked river 1st thing in the morning - after leaving Talbotville. I wonder if that was a factor - i.e. the would have been stone cold and then dunked in the river.
Many thanks!
Aaron
