just putting it out there for discussion...
who thinks you could shoe horn an rb26 (nissan skyline motor) under the bonnet of a d22...

could make for a wild truck if it was done...

funny you say that
my mrs has r33skyline with rb25t
parks next to my d22, I measured it up a while ago
my quick measurments say no
not without moving firewall back
but a buick v6 with a blower will fit( supercharged commodore motor)
so will an ls1

At a guess i'll side with sparra04. Anything longer than 4 cyc would not fit without some serious firewall mods.

I used to have a 4runner and was a member of a Hilux forum, there was a member on there called Suprux, yeah it was an older Hilux with 3ltr Supra straight six, howled like a banshee and fried tyres (4 wheel) the amount of work to get it done was alarming and it was prone to breaking stuff.
The motor barely fitted, it had no fan or water pump on the front, the radiator was in front of the apron with twin thermo's pushing from the outside and an inline pump to push the coolant, theres more to it as I'm just trying to recall from quite a while back.
Doable yes, worth the heartache no, oh and it had **** economy of course.

I have seen pics of an RB25 in a D22. The Nissan RB blocks are all very very similar in dimensions. If you can fit a 25 you can fit a 26. Granted it sat very far back in the bay. Doing conversions like this are expensive mate. Lots of little costs involved... Noone makes kits so everything will probably be custom which would cost some serious $$$
