I haven't been on the beach with mine yet. Have a compressor and deflator and some recovery gear - I don't have maxxtrax or a long-handled shovel, or an earth tree or whatever they're called.
After the TAS run we're close to our 80,000km service now, which is a really big one - so I might stay away from hard stuff until I've got that one behind me.
Tony, Last time I hit stockton (mazda b2600), I did most of the beach in 2wd,
The dunes will require 4wd, but if you follow others tracks, you wont need to get out of your seat, unless you want to take a photo.
yeah its fairly easy up the northern end, beach flattens out and sand is quite hard
gets a bit softer in dunes and at southern end
if my son can do it in an L series subaru anyone can
and theres always plenty of other cars to help out if u need it
i was up there sunday
must have been 100 + 4wds on beach
we travelled the length of the beach up and back
only saw i bogged ford territory and the cops were digging him out
there was even a clown driving a gt forrester
big bling wheels ,stereo cranking
hat on backwards
