Does the New Castrol Magnatec Diesel 5w-40.(DPF)Full Syn). Meet oil specs for D22 Navara?? Its rather confusing because it complies with specs Meets and exceeds API SN/CF, ACEA C3, Dexos™ .

A mechanic friend told me to stay away from Magnatec due to metal filings end up back at the top of the motor. I use 10w-40 Full Syn in my D22 and change it every 3000km with the filter.

Ive used it and it was ok but don't like it being 5w, more prefer around the 10w-40 , think I will use Penrite from now on once the next service is up in 5 tho k's, been using Valvoline super diesel which was good.

I think if your engine has a few K's on it you can go a slightly heavier oil.

What motor have you got in your nav

I have run it in my 09 yd25 d22 and had no issues. You don't wanna go to heavy in the yd25 as you will make the motor work harder using more fuel etc. I personally had issues with heavier oil in my nav and have opted toonly use fully syn 5w oils.
