But it's ONE THREAD on a forum of 1000's of threads.. Simply UNSUB to it.. You won't see it in your feed..

Maybe it's the rising water table, and the added minerals to that water, but people these days just get so irate at things that are not the "norm" for them..

Chill.. Relax.. don't participate if ya don't want too... It's called the Internet..... It's only as real as you make it...

Hahaha. That's what I said, if yoy don't like it, don't read it hahaha. It's not like anyone is holding you to ransom making you read it and then get angry hahahah

So given this is a "random chat" thread I'll share my little story with ya'll

So.. It's Boxing day late afternoon.. We've just shot down the beach for a late swim and sunset.. My mate was *eager* to take his new-ish MU-X out of 2wd...

Anyway's I see a HiLux some 50 metres further up the beach parked up high near the sand dunes.. I take little notice and go back sipping on a nice cool drink and talking shit, as boys tend to do...

About 20 mins passes and I notice ol mate is still parked up there, he's now walking around the car with a shovel. I suggest to my mate we do the righty and go and assist as he clearly is not going to get out if he has not already.

So, like good boy scouts, we head on down the beach. I pull up alongside and offer my assistance in freeing them - at first they decline, but then reneg and say "that'll be great"

He starts by telling me "the tyres are down to 18psi" (they were not!) and that he "thinks" that it's only working in 2wd and not all 4.. (it was all 4)...

Now he's gone and bogged it down to the diffs.. so I get out and start removing copious amounts of sand from the rear of all the tyres, and deflate tyres down to 15psi (from approx 25)..

tyres cleared, some clearance underneath - I tell him to get in, put it into reverse and i'll push on the bullbar ('cause you know - that always helps.. hehe)..

Start engine.. Reverse.. POP out it comes like it was on tarmac...

Ole mate then leans over to the passenger side window and says "thanks for that" and follows it up with "Have you got a computer?".. Obviously I replied "Several actually"...

Now - he reaches into his console, pulls out 20 business cards, hands them too me and says "here give these to your friends and family"... Selects first gear and drives off 100 metres further, parks up and gets his fishing gear out..

Meanwhile I am still standing stunned at him giving me BUSINESS CARDS and asking me to HAND THEM OUT FOR HIM..

Apparently that is now "recovery" currency........

A "hunting / fishing / pig shooting / here's my family history with lots of our photo's on it from the south west" type business / blog..

While I will never begrudge lending anyone a hand when they are stuck, don't try and make it into a business spruiking episode... Some people might not take too kindly to it...

Yeah, bit rough... on my trip down there to tims thicket the other day there was a ranger kinda stuck halfway up a dune and another vehicle there, they were doing something underneath it. I stopped and asked if they were ok and they said they were fine, knew what the problem was.

As I drove off I thought, it's a ranger, that's your problem hahahah
