Well did a trip to Coffs on a tank of BP fuel and got a return of 10.6L/100km like I used too. 2L per 100km better than on Caltex fuel. You could even feel the difference in throttle reponse too. Haven't checked the return trip but it looks very similiar and that was carrying an ~500kg load as well.

Some definitave results about whether or not chips in/decrease your fuel consumption. (almost 1 years tally)

10,000km with Dtronic chip 9.87 l/100km
I'm suprised at the results as I towed a bit more and did quite a few slow 4wd trips (Yalwal, Abercrombie national park, bridle track)

Driven by my mrs, she does not drive hard at all, and drives 40km each way to work daily. This was measured over 3 tanks, then fitted 2 Hiclones and remeasured, same result.
She did not comment on any power diferences when the hiclones went in or came out.
This was also before egr and butterfly mod

Just got a 2nd hand 2008 D22. Only driven around town and a little off-road. It's had no mods and i got 718.8km from 63.17L 8.79L/100k. Pretty happy so far. I can't wait to check highway usage.
I kept accurate records over a couple of years for my Disco. I got my 2004 ZD30 D22 STR just recently and have only started keeping records over the last 2 tanks. So far I've got 7.9 and 9.1 litres/100km... so say 8.5 average. This is all around town and quite a bit of freeway mileage. Have yet to see what offroad and towing will give me.

I own an 03 STR with 180k, loaded with about 250kg tools + canopy, drawers, a roof rack with ladder, manhole gates and conduit
I continually get between 630-660km per tank, recently had it up to 675km but that was just about bloody bone dry
Just filled up and it took 66L with 643km on the trip meter = 10.2 L per 100 km
I think it tyre size is important when doing this calculation, I am currently running 265/65/16 and my speedo is perfect at 100kmh (using 2 different gps). Those that are now getting lower mileage with bigger tyres could just be getting a false odometer reading. Just the same at a navara's speedo will be reading 10kmh slower at 100kmph with 33"s

I ve got an 08 str with 27k on the clock and have been keeping a very comprehensive log book to keep an eye on economy. Ive had it for 3 months now and started off only refilling after using most of the tank. This has seen me getting a best of 8.6 and average of 8.9 per 100km. last two time filling up ive filled up from 1/2 a tank and the economy got as good as 8.2L p/100km. Does anyone know why it would be more efficient in the first half of a tank? These figures are only so low cos i'm never in a hurry and sit on 95-100 on highway. I reckon plenty of people must get pissed of behind me but screw em for that economy.

The top and bottom quarter of my tank is better than the middle half if I use the fuel gauge for the calculations. Usually I can get about 250ks between full and 3/4, 300ks between 3/4 and 1/4 and then a further 250ks out of the remaining 1/4. (basic maths 300ks out of the middle 40 litres and 500ks out of the litres either side).
My gauge says the tank is larger between empty and 1/4 and 3/4 and full than it is between 1/4 and 3/4 and the simple answer for it is because the gauge is not accurate. Of course if you're using the actual pump figures then technically it shouldn't make a difference.
