Hi everyone
I'm having problems with my2011 navara D22 yd25 Japan build 161000klm I first noticed slight hunting on start up. And when you take off a lot of top end rattles under load. Until you reach running temp & then runs normal no rattle hunting not noticeable.
She has had clutch and double row upgraded timing chain at 130000klm. So I read on your site it could be scv so I had it replaced driving home I was giving her a bit hit second and acceleration died had to pull over pressed accelerator flat then it really slowly reeved up. So I turned off turned back on and it drove home. In the morning it wouldn't start. Finally got started straight back to mechanic he has had it for week and a half with no word. Has anyone else had a similar experience.
Regards Scott

Don't quote me, I've read that your SCV can be put in upside down.? 180 turn may fix it? Or a fuel pump reset

Hi Manning
Thanks for your help I will give it a try.
Regards Scott
Just spitballing, 100% not mechanical advise.

When was the last oil change?
Was the same oil viscosity used?
Just thinking why it's better when it's warmer.

May or may not help with the rattle but some decent in fuel injector cleaner aswell.

Hi thanks for all your support and advice.i noticed slight hunting about 157...klm so I did a full service all filters water separator. Always use magnatec diesel 15-40 since 30...klm. Nothing changed still rattle when cold and hunting. So I put injector cleaner & Molly oil additive. Little better but still hunting rattles less. Clear hosed fuel pump to check for air nothing. Mechanic couldn't notice it. Checked forum found scv could be fault also noticed oil tube leaking so got mech to replace them both. Then it played up driving home so went straight back. He has had it for two weeks. Told me he had part coming.
Hopefully it's not a $3500 part.
Regards Scott

Dirty or damaged injectors can cause a rattle on cold start up, especially under load, that may go away when the engine heats up. Dirty injectors can cause hunting as well. You say the issue improved a little after you used injector cleaner, which also points towards dirty injectors.

I use Fuel Doctor additive in every tank, got rid of the hunting. cleans everything from tank to tailpipe with better milage on a long trip.
Hi Billy
I use to do the same. Probably need to keep it up slacked off penny pinching last year.

Hi Kevin
Went back to mechanic he is trying to tell me it's the pump $3500 +labor. I got the shits with him guessing went to injector and pump specialist. Straight away said it's not pump it's sucking air. Found brand new ryco fuel filter was faulty and leaking and then found hose on top of tank perished. He gave it back driving home acceleration would just die no rev's. Pull over restart drive off two hundred meters it would just keep loosing any acceleration but continues to idle. Specialist reckons object floating in tank blocking fuel. Just waiting to hear if he has cleaned.

To save him some time taking it out being how much of a hassle it is, i have heard about what your saying & i did mine myself & knew to put in the Correct way up.

The Pink loom part when fitted if i remember right from month ago should be on a certain side, i think the left (looking in at it), if its upside down u can tell by the loom being in wrong spot, (rhs after fitting is wrong way up)

That could be checked by looking at some photos or others pics/vids of the YD25 SCV fitted on youtube or Internet search... or if people post pics here.

I took pics of mine fitted after, i will try attach to this reply. i also changed the Fuel rail pressure sensor @ same time & did the fuel pump/eu reset. Goes much better.

See mypics of the SCV fitted correct way up for reference 😎🙂

I'd be checking Boost control solenoid ... come to think of it !

My original one i had after i bought the vehicle second hand went on me after a year.

Those symptoms u describe... 🤔🤔
The total power dying then idling ok, hunting, i had that trouble, new solenoid i fitted solved it & went like a new car..
For 3 months.. more fool me for buying cheap ones online to experiment with just to check it was the problem, then being a cheap part it would fail. I recommend a Genuine Denso etc thru the actual company, lotta fakes online.

So i replaced my BCS everytime it went & the truck goes 100 times better, its quick as & no hunting, no dying yet idling okay.

Im having about a 40% power loss trouble now with EGR, even after test blocking, it went okay for a couple weeks or so testing.
I am going to do a full replacement of EGR Sensor/Butterfly & All the Piping.

Estimate cost of $500 before fitting, but my mech is a legend and will probably whack em on in 30 min and charge me $60 bux 🇭🇲😎

Hi bringthenav
The first mechanic installed the new one upside down then they flipped it. But all problems continued. They wanted to do diesel pump $3500+labor so I got the shits as it wouldn't start next day. Found a injector and pump specialist. He found faulty new ryco fuel filter and perished hose on tank sucking air so he replaced and installed Old SCV. On the way home started doing all the same symptoms driving along you just loose all acceleration it drops to idle. Turn off restart acceleration is back drive of and it does it again. Straight back limped back restarting every couple of klms. Specialist reckons object floating around in the tank he is dropping tank to find and fix.
Praying that's it.
Thanks Scott
