NP300 D23 STX- Had my ignition on (motor off) and no lights turned on and aircon turned off. Opened bonnet and a loud buzzing noise was coming from the back of the front LHS head light unit.
I first thought I had a wasp nest.
Took battery out but kept power connected via jumper leads. Was able to find noise by feeling for vibration and when I touched the small white plastic screw I confirmed it was coming from light assembly?
Turned all lights on and all including fog lights work. Disconnected power plug just below white screw and noise stopped BUT no lights turned off? Pushing connector in and out triggers the noise with lights on or off.
See attached picture of back of head light assembly and a short video with sound showing problem.
Connector appears to not be for lights? What else is in there? Put it all temp back with connector disconnected as it sounds a bit like a short?

Just ran scan WITH CONNECTOR OFF and the following error came up "B26EF STRG LCK RELAY OFF". There is a similar connector on the RHS rear head light assembly. Manual says B26EF STEERING LOCK RELAY. I would be surprised if it is the stirring lock as it should also prevent car turning over BUT I can start and drive the car. Could it be the head light levelling relay?

Any help gratefully accepted.

Looks like it is the Headlamp Aiming Motor. Has anybody replaced similar unit on back of Head Light? Are they available separate from Head light unit? It appears not all models have this option? Current solution is to leave disconnected until options are clear. Is it possible to remove head light unit with out removing front bumper etc? (There appears to be no specific scanner code for this issue which may explain the "random" B26EF code that was thrown up?)
