Very nice... im still assuming you can tune to a/f readings and egt's
Innovate have a good rep from what i've read as i've been thinking about getting a AFR guage for the same reasons as you. Between AFR, EGT and boost you should be able to come up with a decent backyard tune. Ordered the SS version of this the other day, http://gtechpro.com.au/gtech_pro_fanatic.php Should be good for back to back testing of different mods.

Rumpig thats what i want to hear..diesel tuner posted some AFR ratios the other day and it got me thinking. That gtech looks nice might blow my slender budget right now.ive been using the torque app for rough HP and 1/4 mile times.

4BYFOR Im sure ours dont have the O2 sensor the gauge requires...i think its in the later model d40s
4by, even if your car has a factory O2 sensor the ECU probably recieves raw data and processes that internally without any output that a guage could use . If you look at the link Camo posted there's an O2 sensor, the gauge and a controller to process the signal.

Dont go near innovate or aem stuff. The quality is terrible over the last few years.
Nothing like the old stuff used to be.
One of the best products out there is made in Australia anyway. Techedge is the name of the company. I use them for pretty much all setups I do from street to track cars and have always had awesome backup when needed.

Diesel tuner, do I need to run a sender unit for my gauge or can I tap into the O2 sensor on the exhaust as is?

I like the techedge stuff...noticing it will output to a pc.just happens that i have a carpc setup in the nav.

A specific o2 sensor is supplied with each of the various brands of afr meters.
You dont know the scaling of the stock sensor so there is no way to really use it.
I dont even know if they are a linear or narrowband type sensor tbh.
These days the run of the mill is a bosch lsu4.9 sensor that will read accurately between 10-40:1 fuel ratio. If you buy of techedge, they normally go 10-30 but just telling them its for a diesel the reprogram the gauge to read 10-40 for you.
They are about $160 brand new.
NGK also make faster, better resolution sensors that can be used with the techedge, up around the $400 mark per sensor.
Bosch and NGK then make lab grade sensors, that read from about 6:1 up to 75:1 or free air. Cost around $1000 per sensor.
If you are doing it on the cheap and can assemble some electronic parts and a case go here

Cheers DieselTuner for the ordering tips..i think the techedge will work really well using the carpc i already have fitted.as i really dont need to mount another gauge/display in the cab..removal and swapping to race car will be a piece of cake also

Just checking specs and the plx range seens to only support the older bosch 4.2 sensor.
