you can get a D40 in 2WD still afaik, save a few $$ but its better to spend the extra on a 4x4, mind you I beleive the SR hilux is a bit cheaper in 2WD and is just as good, has a nice v6 and 5 speed auto.

you can get a D22 as well for about $23k in 2WD pretty ugly though compared to some of the other utes or STR for $28000 which is probably the best value dual cab on the market.

The model you should buy is the model the best suits your purpose and your budget. It appears from the limited information supplied that your purpose would be fulfilled with anything from a trailer to a Dunndoor ute to any 4x4 ute. Your budget however may thank you for not going to the higher price of a D40 if you don't need 4x4, dual cab or anything else the D40 has.

As above 2wd version may be and options and you might even find the povo pack 2wd Yota is priced right and suits a purpose but it's not really easy for any of us to make anything other than a suggestion based on personal preference when the only requirements are small jobs and puppy dogs.

As for a reliable dealer some people will say there is no such thing, however each customer is treated differently, how you get treated may vary dramatically to someone else at the same dealership. Your best bet is to start local then spread your wings to find the deal you want.

I am happy to recommend the D22. I have not had it off road yet and using it mainly driving to work, family outings and the like but they look great and its nice to know the 4x4 is available if needed.

I opted for the D40 because I have two kids and the D22 wasn't big enough in the back in my opinion. I don't do much four wheeling but I know I want to do that and touring in the future so it was an easy choice. In regards to dealers, they all piss in your ear and smile before you hand over the money... Maybe word if mouth is better to find a dealer with decent after sales service rather than the dealer who is $500 cheaper. My 2c!

Really need more info. If you plan on doing any longer distance trips, go for the D40. A 2 wheel drive model may well be the go if don't plan on any 4 wheel driving. Less mechanical complexity and possibly better fuel consumption. Do you need to carry 4 person often, rarely or never? Will dictate the body type which will best suit. Dual, King or Single Cab?

Want VS need.
Great Wall V240? Everything on it. Good after sales support if needed.
Comes with everything on it. Someone just did a cape trip in one in latest 4WD Action.
And...., CHEAP.

And a TWO STAR crash rating.

thanks for ur suggestions guys, i am looking to spend 35-40K, want a dual cab, no kids etc. want to put all terrain tyres, for a rugged look, no kids yet
thanks guys...

Hey.., wow. Lol. I'm a D40 no questions asked kinda guy.
Average question, average answer. Kids=D40..., more room, more comfort, easier drive.
Didn't realize d22s were so cheap. My bad.
