What oil for the Transfer box

The hand book informs me that the transfer box oil should be ATF
has anyone out there got any info if it is correct, as I feel it should be the same oil as the gearbox

manual says Nissan ATF or API GL-4 (no viscosity stated). Manual Transmission also uses GL-4 but also has reccomended viscosity of 75w85

Yes Transfer case oil (D22 and D40) should be Nissan Matic D ATF which is pretty much similar to Dexron III.

Yep, Same as the G'box (well thats what i put in mine)
