Hey all, im very new to the navara scene, ive done some searching but everyone elses probs seem to be a little different to this issue. Its an newly purchased 02 d22 with 300,00km on the clock. In 3rd, 4th and 5th gear theres a vibration noise coming from the rear end. Cant feel any vibration or anything, its all sound. Does it when its accelerating, gets louder the faster you go. As soon as you take your foot off or push in the clutch the noise stops. All oils have apparently just been changed. I will add some more details about the driving habbits/noise when I see my brother next, till then im all ears. Thanks in advance.

Just a quick update, mechanic had a listin and thinks it can be the diff. We took the Ute a little off road tonight and used 4wd, during this the noise went away. Comes back in 2wd though

Change the rear diff oil, they need gear oil that is specificaly for "Limited Slip Diffs" . Holds about 1.5 litres. Someone probably put standard oil in.

Ok I'll try that, I've recently did my vy ss diff, same oil and additive? Think I may have a little left

Ive read on an other forum about f150 4x4 etc but a bloke had the exact same issues, apparently theres someking of pressure valve/solenoid that engages the 4x4 in diffs, obviously builds up pressure and locks in the 4x4 when selected and then loses pressure once deactivated. Said that the little solenoid in rear diff wasnt 100% disengaging causing the noise.
Im new to the 4x4 scene so does this sound familuar?

Just herd from the mechanic, apparently theres a tooth missing on some part inside the diff. So far 1300 just for the part.... scared of the labour cost! Will keep yas all posted when I find out more
