gday everyone.

have just picked up myself a WWG Vision Pyrometer VDO gauge.

the question is.....what temperature is it supposed to run at on the gauge?
what should it read with and with towing our Jayco Outback Swan?

:cheers!:

depends on where the probe is placed, ie before or after turbo, and how much throttle your running (uphil/downhill ?). really hard to say what it should read while towing various weights. most people will know what it reads when empty.
also mods done to motor will change what it reads.

what temps are you getting?

My D22 in general driving see's between 280C-350C.

Hit a big hill and she'll see 450C at max and thats pushing it.

driving empty, for me cruise is 200-250c, max i've had is 500c @ 4000rpm uphill before i backed it off. i think it was getting oil through a rather full catch can.
egt sensor is after turbo.
