Hi,

Have a D22 that goes dead if not started for 2 days, hooked up multimeter to check amps drawn seems 8amp is getting sucked from battery.

Started popping fuses to find the related circuits and two seem to be taking power while car is shut down.

The Audio fuse in engine fuse box, so most likely culprit would be aftermarket stereo but I have no idea what would be the second as the Elec B fuse in interior fuse box was leaching power.

Any ideas as to whats on that circuit that could be causing power drain?

Thanks.

which d22 version do you have?
year?
i can look up some of the electrical diagrams but they do change over the years.

what stereo gear do you have ? a separate amp ?

The elec B fuse holds power to the clock and trip metre, if you pull that fuse everytime you tunr the car on and off the trip metre and clock will reset. This is normal and should draw a bit of power, but not 8 amps. Aftermarket stereo is much more likely

Is the aftermarket stereo hooked up 'backwards'. ie Accessory power to the battery and batt power to what should be the accessory setting? It is possible that the Accessory trigger isn't turning the unit off properly and the amplifiers are till on..
