Hey all, my names Danny, live in SA, 29yrs and and I think im ready to grow up. Currently on the market looking for a d22. My wife and I have bought a boat and its becoming a little impossible to beach launch in a lowered v8 commodore. Just in 2 minds though... spend over $20k for a ute with 70k kms or less OR spend 15k for one with 130k + km on the clock. The ute will be used for camping, fishing, motorbike riding, etc. Any feedback let me have it

Well Welcome...... Yeah those Commodores are great till you try anything too do with sand

Its a hard call. Newer is generally better. But older is likely to be 3liter engine. I love my 04 but ive put a bit into it in the 4 years I've owned it. Still has under 160 on the clock. Tows the camper like its not even there. I'm happy with the fuel economy. And it handles the odd hunting trip in the bush great. But the d40 I drive at work is roomier. But they need a bit more pedal on take off IMO. No real help I guess just more to think about

Brand new d22 at 28k drive away is maybe worth a look. If you have kids then the extra room in a d40 wouldn't go astray.

Thanks for the replies lads. SO this is how my situation has panned out. Wife stumbled accross a car SHE wanted for her self at a price we could walk away from so my funds for my car copped a fisting. Sayin that it helped me to decide what to do. Few days later I have a 2010 d22 sittin in my driveway, decided and pretty much had to buy the cheaper option. Overall still very happy with the outcome. Cheers.
