Navara D40 seat belt tensioner

Hi,I have a d40 2010 Spanish model LHD and driver/passenger seat belt is a little loose. I think it lost its tension quickly. Is this a factory mistake or its normal happen this to navara? Is there any trick to do or needs replacing?

It's normal. Mostly sweat and dust on the belt.
Give it a clean and a spray with silicon spray.

You mean to remove the plastic covers and clean the tensioner mechanism or just clean the belt without touching anything else?

Just the belt. Use some very mild detergent, but rinse it off well to stop it going stiff.

There is a youtube showing how to clean the belt.. I belive it was pull the belt all the way out and lock it the with a sandwich bag clip...box on the seat and a bowl full of soapy hot water... seems to work really well.
