Cheers mate.

Got a diff brace kit. Welding was pretty poor. 6mm plate with less then 2mm penetration. so i rewelded it from the inside. wasnt a great fit either.

Brace fit a bit better...stiched it on for now..might fully weld and cap to stop mud from sitting inside.

Ride height is going to have to be higher...bugger all room for up travel at the moment.

On the upside though, the roofline is only at 1.9 so a little higher isnt the end of the world. Wheelbase is looking to be 124"...might be a bit long, see what happens.

wheres the fun in being sane? haha

Ah its not coming together soon enough. Linkages aint easy.

Made up a draglink so i could check out the angle on it. Its running on a negative angle which from what ive gathered is a good thing. with the bit of extra height i have to add hopefully it will at least stay flat. Its in a bit of a crap spot in relation to offroad.....but it will be coming off when wheeling.

Also been playing around with the link calculator on pirate....im hoping to run a triangulated 4 link, but its looking like space will be an issue.

does your drag link have replaceable part's so if you break bend or wear down the ball joint it's and easy fix?

also if ya haven't seen i got a new draglink under warrenty.

haha the draglink i used was the old navara one chopped up and slid into rhs. Ill just be using an aftermarket GU draglink probably...but thats only for on road not offroad so there wont be any breaking or bending...i hope.

Yeah i seen that, i got mine done under warranty aswell...6months after they said they wouldnt do it under warranty. idiots.

Hey Joshy,

The truck looks sick! I was just wondering. Have you checked to see if the Nav will fit out the roller door? LOL A bit like on NCIS that boss dude building a timber boat in his basement.

Cheers mate, hurry up and get it back together, I'm keen to see it's ability when finished.

DJ

Thanks mate, haha yeah itll fit out the door, even with the 42's on. It doesnt really sit that high.

Back to the Nav...

Did some more mucking around with it on the weekend...leveled it all up in each direction and put the iroks on the rear diff to see how far back the gu diff will have to go.

Managed to shorten the wheelbase back to 116"..hopefully max it will finish up is at 119.

Made sure it will clear on up travel...only had 2 lowers connected so obviously it wanted to pull sideways but if it hand not of pulled over there would be more clearance.

6" of up travel... still room so ride height can maybe come down more.

Roughed up lower link is touching chassis tho....bear in mind this was just to check the principle and is deffinetly not final..

P9270067.jpg

Guard clearance...theyll still be cut..

And a bit of a more complete shot..

I want to see! Probably costs a packet for a backcopy though.

I just found their article about TJM Coopers Plains' Navara where the guy reckoned it was "Australia's toughest Navara". Yours has his over a barrel for Australia's toughest Navara since yours is actually on a NAVARA CHASSIS. The article was written as though they had yours in the back of their minds and they didn't quite want to agree with the owner.

yeah that article annoyed me...its just a nav body on a trol chassis. Which is how i reason with myself mine is still a nav cos its got chassis and body haha.
