If you want to go a V6, try the Nissan V6. If you get a V6 and transmission out of a Navara or Pathfinder, with the transfer case, should just bolt on to the driveshafts. They all used the same transfer case. You will need to change the engine mounts, but other than that, shouldn't be much more difficult than than the KA24E swap, and maybe even easier than the KA24DE swap.

With any of those, you still need to mod the wiring and add in a high pressure fuel pump.

I got a price on an engine, tranny, ecu and loom of about $1500 from a 4x4 wrecker around here. Cheaper than the bommodore conversion. Bonus is that the Navara came out with the V6, so engineering should be straightforward. D21 in the states had the V6, even if we didn't, and I don't believe the chassis is any different between the D21 and D22.

Thats what Id be doing if I was going a V6.
