Thanks heaps everybody that has had an input. Def made me feel way more happy with my current position. I'm just going to get out there and use the bloody thing to see this awesome country we live in!!

this post has put my mind at ease, my tray and canopy build is almost done and i was worried about the weight over the rear end.

the superior engineering welding plates isn't a bad idea though!

mine will be a steel tray 1800 long, full ali canopy, rooftop tent right up the back and 2 spare 33's and i thought that was a lot of weight

Will be interesting to see what you end up weighing. You might be supprised how quick it adds up.
