Hi All,

Looking to purchase a Nav and have a line on a 2012 D22 S5, Manual, reasonable K's for age and within my price range.
Before i drop my hard earned is there anything specific i should be looking for? either physically or within maintenance records (injectors, timing chain, etc)

Thanks for the help.

That car will have a similar engine to mine (YD25, 126kW). Turbo might be different.

The engines are fairly solid. Mistreated they could cause trouble, especially with infrequent oil changes gumming things up like the auto chain tensioners on the front of the engine which causes premature timing chain wear.

When you inspect the car, expect to see dark oil on the dip stick (diesels soot their oil up fairly quickly).

Drive shafts should have no play in them. Check that 4WD works with no warning lights. Drive the car smoothly through a bend in both directions at around the same speed with the windows down so you can listen to the road noise - extra noise on one side vs the other indicates wheel bearing wear.

Otherwise, most D22s of that vintage are pretty good workhorses. Good luck!
