Canberra have pity !!!!!
I have seen a few of the guys say that putting the hard cover back on is easy with 2 people. I have tried everything I can think of and its always a royal pain in the butt trying to get the damm hinge pins back in.
I have even gone as far as removing the hinge plates and crawling up underneath the cover and screwing them back on.
Surely there has to be a better way.
Hows everyone else do it.

Just position the hard cover in the right position and you should not have any problems, plus I always lay my cover flat, so the back rubber doesn't warp. Get your helper to adjust cover height to where you need it and it bots up easy.

same, with someone holding at 45deg. otherwise at height the struts hold it at. definately can't do it when flat. agree, there's gotta be an easier way

easy to take out, not so easy to put back in. i can get one side in easy its the second side which involves a bit of communication with your helper to get it done. have done it 2-3 times now.

yep mine is a pr*** to put back on with one man but 2 makes it a little bit easier...definatly dont connect the gas struts until the pins are in...dont think there anything u can do but to swear ur nuts off and shake the hell out of it till the pins get in

Ah the secret is out

"swear ur nuts off and shake the hell out of it till the pins get in "

lol

i used to lay on my back inside the tub with my knees keeping the hardlid at 45 degrees so i could get the pins in lol and use my hands to adjust the position of the lid lol

probably sounds a bit akward lol but it worked hahah

I used to do similar but with a strap holding it up but 1 arm out thru the side to try to push the lid down to get the pins in
Now I have the alluminium frame to pull down on lol
Great design NOT

Hi, I'm chasing a lid hinge for a 2009 D40 hard lid. The hinge on the lid is there i just need to know where to get the bits that fit to the tub, also need struts and the bits that the lock holds on to.. anyone know where I can order this from online.
Cheers.

I took to the pins with a girder and put a sharp point on the end to help start the pins in the hole made life a lot easier

Just put mine back on yesterday. Had three of us putting it on and it was still an ass. One pin was a prick to get it, lets just say the hardlid was gonna go in the shed. lol
