Hi
Does anyone have any
Pics they could show of what it looks like after you trim the guards back.... Just wondering whether I will cut them or put up with the noise. I have done a thorough search and can't find pics.
I get scrub from the square bit at full lock and also when I corner hard and the suspension pushes down.

Thanks

I'm gouessing you're talking about the front guards on a D40?

If so, I cut mine from just before one of the mudflap screw holes and back up the guard back towards the front of the car. Sounds a bit confusing, but it looks quite cosmetic.

If you're unsure, just start by chopping off a little bit, then a bit more, then a bit more and so on.

You do get left with a big bloody opening that the mudguard used to cover, but it's so big you can easily hose out any stuff that gets stuck in it.

Sorry my post was a bit vague, I have a 2012 d22 and I'm thinking of cutting back the guard on the front wheel as the tyre is lightly scrubbing a bit of a protruding part that looks square.

I have 265/75r16 BFG AT's and just cut it off with my hacksaw at an angle then sand papered it to look neat, no scrubbing now.

@180 degrees you wouldn't be able to post me a pic would you mate?
@nathan so far so good they look nice and chunky and I've heard great reviews, I've only done about 900km on mine so far, paid $253 per tyre fitted and balanced.

Ok thanks mate, if anyone already has a pic of their trim job available it would be greatly appreciated .

thanks mate did you remove the whole guard?
Im not near my ute at the moment and trying to visualize.

nope. just took off the tyre so i there is more space for the grinder. thats it. took about 10 minutes.

did it myself. not much tools.. a screw driver to take the mudflaps off, than a grinder to cut off the bit that was scrubbing and also used a smallish hammer to hit some metal back. thats about it.
