Fuel system bleed

Good day all
Hope someone can help, I changed the SCV went for test drive the vehicle went into limp mode again.
I reset the ECU twice doing the accelerated tap dance.
Because I removed fuel lines to do the SCV, thinking air in the system I went to the fuel filter and pushed the black priming knob it was easy to push and didn’t harden.
I pushed it heaps went for drive seemed ok, but would like to get that pump to harden up.

I know the primer bulb hardens up in the D40 but not sure how it works in the D22. There might be a return line that spills excess fuel in the priming system back to the tank, which would stop it from ever reaching any sort of higher pressure.

Thanks Tony,
After replacing SCV and fuel filter, first start in the morning rough idle, smooth idle up and down.
Taking it to a Diesel specialist tomorrow 11 Feb, will give feed back.

Glow Plugs mate!
I've overlooked mine & as well as my fuel filter for 40k & i had rough starts and rough idle,
black snoke under heavy acceleration or load, when needing to drop down a gear

I started having a stalling when cold issue while not warmed up yet driving, or after big hill climbs. It became terninal in past two weeks when cold & would intermittent stall just after starting & not restart without trying numerous times & pumping the primer bulb 6x til its hard.

That became worse about a week ago & was getting intermittent stalling on startswith a warm or hot motor. Couple days ago & i couldnt start the car many times

Ive now fried my starter motor from trying to start it too much times when it wouldnt & got stranded 50km from home.

Im changing my Glow Plugs, fuel Filter & Starter motor this week & will update if my rough startup with knocking/rough as idle & my warmed up quite rough idle comes good.
