I'm looking for a bit of guidance; both front wheel bearings on my Ute are worn & need replacing (they're causing the tyres to wear excessively on the inside)

Are there any brands that I need to steer clear of when buying new bearings? I don't mind spending the extra for good bearings.

But I had a quote from a repairer (parts only) that was double what Repco are charging for their own brand of bearings.

I saw on line that buying the hub with bearings already in place is also not really expensive, but is that overkill? (the Ute has travelled a fair amount of rough unsealed roads)

I doubt wheels bearings are the problem, but it can be hard to get good wheel alignment if bearings are loose. if they are not making noise, then they are probably ok. i would pull them out, check and regrease them. they are normally i bit on the loose side when set correctly anyway.

Thanks!

The wheels wobble a bit when elevated, but don't make any noticeable noise when driving (other than worn tyre noise)

I'm planning a remote trip for the coming year & we travel solo, so I want to get it right.

I replaced my top control arms on mine they where shot and alignment and it was good then about a year later when I turn a corner on the rhs I noticed a click or creek check suspension all is OK no play but I get some movement in the wheel and I did have a feathered edge the alignment was 6 mm out toe out strangely it's only had high way use lower control arm or bearing yet there is no noise
