Funny how people jump to the "take my possessions" mantra, they arent taking anything they are refusing to let an unroadworthy car on the road. You would be free to have the vehicle towed but they won't let you drive it. Not many cops would agree that driving a car that is deemed that dangerously unroadworthy is a good idea. Not all states have the waiver option especially for dangerous roadworthy issues.

i understand what youre saying, but i question the reasoning behind it (money). Personally i know of blokes working pubs who see the same people pissed get in their car and drive home, And when you get to know the routine they call the cops and get them caught in the act, i see nothing wrong with that, same as i dont wont pieces of shit cars with bald tyres and bugger all brakes on the road

I don't think it happens that often but I bet the next time its used as a way to try and screw someone it won't be the first.
