D22 Navara diff

I got a 2010 D22 and after I've hosed the undercarriage or been through a water crossing and i park it up for a day or two, then put it in reverse and start to go it gives resistance, then bang, then goes no problems. I should mention this has only happened twice in six months , not all the time, any idea's???.

Sounds much more like handbrake or rear drum brake issue than diff.
