Let me know what the results are on that because I'm in Canberra the red tape capital!
Never thought to go check on that!

Its highly unlikely you would get done on it. But, as easy as it is to change, its worth it. Dunno how different it is up there, but no mod plate needed here

Some pics of the false floor i built.

Sweet! I left just enough room for a small compressor for tyres. I have a spare twin 12V adaptor that i will mount for the fridge and compressor in the back as well.

Just scored dads TJM alloy roofrack for $300 so will fit that this weekend too. Wrapped with that!

Dad gave me his TJM alloy roofrack. It's for a king cab but with a little bit of modification it bolts up.

That small bit of overhang on the rear is perfect for what im going to do. Bolt a piece of PVC sheet there with a small steel plate and i can put my LED light under there for cooking as i already have the slide out benchtop in the tray.

Perfect!

Was having a few cold beers in the garage after work and came up with this for a mini kitchen set up for my stove. Slide out benchtop on some locking drawer slides and an old bracket and piece of 12mm plywood bolted to the back of the roofrack (removable via wingnuts) for my LED strip bar (no, not the ****y kind of strip bar).

Quick to set up and pack up. Not finished yet. I have to hit the wood with some exterior paint. And whack a few hooks into it for hanging stuff off. But you get the idea. All made from stuff laying around in the garage.

For a total cost of $10 for two second hand bedside tables off Gumtree, i now have two small drawers for my false floor to hold "quick to access" items like torches, jumper leads, first aid kit etc. Took maybe an hour. Hardest bit was cutting up the drawers from the bedside tables with the powersaw.

I have a bit of leftover carpet from the false floor so ill carpet the drawers on the weekend to match.
