Is there any way I can get the tailshaft bearing off (to replace) without having to take it to a shop to be pressed? I've tried hitting it off with a hammer and screwdriver to no avail. My mate can get a pulley/gear puller from his work, will that work? And how much of a pain in the ass is it to put back on? Cheers.

By the way, I've already got the front half of the tailshaft off and sitting in a vice, so that's no issues.

you could try heat, then cool quickly, then a sharp impact
pressing is the "safest way" but not the only way

^ Do that. Or, a much slower way is to work it off starting with razer baldes, then work up to bigger & bigger wedges. But its apita - take it some where to get it pressed off and put new one on at the same time.

As above, you've saved money on labour by taking it off yourself, take it to a mechanic and pay him to press the old one off and press the new one on, then reinstall yourself. Still saved money in the long run.
