Hi guys recently got some heavy rain in qld and drove through some flooded streets. Nothing too deep commodores were going through fine. I have just bought my Navara and it's still in its break in period. A mate of mine heard and said in his hilux manual it said take for service if doing driving in extreme weather during break in period. Could find nothing on here, the net or in my user manual which agreed with this but still just want to be sure. Anyone know if this is true or not ?? Thanks

That's another d40 top right coming by me so it was quite low

A bit of water in the break in is fine that's not extreame what they mean is heavy towing dusty roads ect but in the 1st 1000k you take it easy anyway no need for any extra service mate.

I wouldn't say that was extreme, break in period means don't drive it hard so the ecu adjust's to normal driving habbits and don't hook up to 3 tonn of caravan until it's first service.

^ Agreed - for the Navara. Getting the tyres wet, or driving in more than 5mm of sand, or within visual range of dirt/gravel roads (regardless of how recently maintained) would be cause for concern in a Hilux. Toyota don't activate the windscreen wipers until the first service for that very reason.

(I'll now sit back and wait for the nibbles)
