So recently I have been looking at Adjustable coilovers, for when I get stuff to lift my ute. I am going with 2", but I want it to sit level, and so I thought getting adjustable coilovers in the front is the way to go.

Although, I am unsure of what brand I should look for.

As for rear springs and shocks, I will be going either EFS or Tough Dog springs, with Lovells shocks.

I am guessing that it will require about 3" lift in the front for it to sit level, so I will also need adjustable UCAs. What brand, and type of UCA (offset bush, or adjustable arm) should I go for??

This is my current setup. All the gear is from PRG Products in the US
2" Radflo's with 500lb springs and the PRG Upper control arms

Mine is an 06/07 4x2 so dont have to worry about drive shafts etc but the same equipment is for the 4x4.
The biggest issue with the 3" of lift on the 4x4 is it in some instances creates bad angles on the CV joints.
The idea of the rear being higher than the front is so that under load the truck will sit level

I run the 0 to 300kg Ironman springs in the rear with the Rancho RS9000XL shocks in the rear. Good value and a great ride.

The difference between stock and this setup is worlds apart. I go over speed bumps without really feeling them where with stock it was hit the roof type deal.
Between Glenn at RADFLO and Greg at PRG there is a wealth of knowledge.
With both the arms and the shocks being rebuildable it was an easy choice when I bought them. At the time in 2007/08 aftermarket shocks were around the $650 mark and not rebuildable.

SPC also makes the UCA that are adjustable but not aware of anyone in Aus that does the adjustable coilovers. Best person to speak to on that would be Zordo

Yeah the 9000 Ranchos are adjustable so you can dictate the ride. Not cheap but they are good quality

Aussie to US dollar is bad atm wanting to order some things but should i holdoff?
Ive got some spc uppers fitted pretty happy.only problem i can see is if the ball joint fails or spc/prg stop making those joints we could get stuck....on the other hand one could always have some forthought and buy spares now....as they arnt too expensive...plenty of d40/frontiers/exterra around

unless you have a crytsal ball saying the aussie dollar will bounce back soon, you may be better off buying now before it gets worse

KING is another good coil over, but you'll pay $2500+ for front coil overs and rear shocks and still need leaves for the rear. they're a 2.5" dia shock and just took out every class in the Finke desert race, I didn't want to spend that much so I settled on Bilsteins

Yes no budget for kings.could probably stretch it to radflo front and rancho rears.also thinking about the legal side to.as my current setup is far from legal.....aussie how much droop do you get on yours and whats your ride height set to? Im at 4"lift with 2"droop from ride height..cv angle is 10 deg.

Mine is only a 4x2 so no cv's etc. I am only at 40mm lift as didnt want to draw too much attention even though its all engineered and legal.
I set mine up to handle on a race track so sift front springs etc and zero camber but under heavy breaking its neg camber so it turns in hard .
As I dont play that way on the track any more I am thinking about installing offset bush's in the LCA and winding it up a little and maybe up the springs to 550lb or even 600lb
never actually measure droop

Sort of unsure if i will actually get any extra droop as there listed as 1.5 'extended and my current shocks were about 1 and a bit inch longer than the stockers i pulled out.upper arms will allow for a fair bit more from ride height if your dont look at the cv angle when they eventually bottom out its all good.not that a momentary stint at like 20-30deg matters much.dropped a email to the performance lifts guys about that exact question yesterday

Im running a 10deg cv angle @ 4"lift.happy camper here.have a look at a stock one its at least 10deg inverted...

At 4" your cvs aren't gonna last long. I put this in http://www.prgproducts.com/shop/product/advanced_coilover_package/ and upgraded to remote res rear rads with adjustable shackles and have not had one issue with it. Greg at PRG is a great guy to deal with and knows this suspension in and out. Im runnin 650lb springs so it ll handle the bar when I get it on.

That's a well priced kit.and its got the works.you running max lift in yours?and with the rear spring addins is it kinda level?

Mines still got a bit of rake as I have adjustable shackles in set at 1". With just the deaver AALs it sat level (measured at the guards) but cos of the lines of the ute it looked liked it was squatting a bit so I put the shackles in. Im at 3" front and rear so still about 1" rake.
