ok, so i just bought a 2011 d22, and it is basically stock and i am looking to put a lift in. was looking to put a 3" in but have read nothing but problems with the 3's. is it really worth it putting a 3 in and dealing with all the issues, or just put a 2 in and maybe a body lift. let me know what u think?

I'm doin a 2" sus lift and a 2" body lift in my 06 D22, I haven't got a lift ATM and I'm doin some pretty wicked tracks out bush

I love my 3" lift and would do it exactly the same if I was to do it again. Handles better than the 2" lift I had previously and the only issue I have had is it has a bit of play in the steering but I can live with that.

one of the problems 3" lift can have is its sitting on the stops. not sure how guys are getting around that. it would depend on if your changing suspension arms or not too.

2" is just easy and cheap to do.

YMMV but the prices I was quoted for a 3" lift by itself was enough to fit my 2" lift and have enough left over for 32" tyres which gave me another inch of clearance.

the higher you go at the front the more of an angle and pressure you put on your cv's which will lead to failure. also not sure where you live but in Queensland a 3" suspension lift is illegal but a 2" suspension and 2" body lift is all ok. id go 2+2 its cheaper and you get an extra inch then you can fit 33's in.

At which point in time do you need to go with the Calmini UCA's to obtain bump stop clearance ?

love my 3" lift kit, flex ain't bad but doesn't matter what you do its IFS and IFS sucks balls for flex.

I would go a 2" suspension and 2" body next time for price but other than that i wouldn't change mine.

So is the "extra" flex worth it with Uca's? Or just go body lift??

I've got a full Dobinsons 2" kit in now with the Calmini upper arms. That's probably by far the best setup

Removed the rear shackles?

Removed the rear shackles?

Yeah the 3" shackles were actually making it a bit lower because they were letting the leaf stretch out more. I have been looking into drop shackles for the rear though, they would make a big change to rear flex

I think they'd ruin the ride.. They done help THAT much either.. My mates Zook didn't get too
Much flex using drop over extended shackles

If you can get the lockable one where you put the pin through then they are good

I looked into these. From what i read they only look good with extra wheel travel. Because they only "drop" the leaf spring down, you have no weight/force applied to the tyre, so still no traction. Not sure if this is the case or not as i dont have them though.

I want more wheel travel as well, but usable wheel travel to help with holes on hills.
