I was chatting to a friend recently and he reckoned that my pickup, a 2019 Navara D231 Tekna, could have a timing belt that runs in oil. I had never heard of this before, I've only ever experienced belts that run dry, chains or gears (my working days are long gone !) Is this true for my pickup and if so when are they changed, assuming that there is a reccomended changing interval.

Thanks in advance for any help and/or adivice.

did a quick look through the manual and they are timing chain.

there is some engines around (ford?) that use a belt to drive the oil pump and the belt runs in oil.

Thank you for that. Very helpful and much appreciated. I have only got the normal owners manual and presumed that it wouldn't tell me in that but I will have a look anyway.
