I found that the most important thing to do is keep the servicing happening. Driving it gently helps - particularly if you're towing and climbing hills. Listen to the car, and feel it, and when you notice that something isn't right get it fixed (eg if it starts making more noise around a left hand bend, get the right front wheel bearing fixed).
If you keep on top of it - and don't pressure-wash the engine bay - it should do pretty well.
