Alright guys I'm still experimenting atm and yet to add methanol into the mix. Getting a 20litre drum soon.
Just wanting to know when you guys with water/meth injection are switching on your systems.
So what psi to switch on and
How much methanol?
I was thinking around 20-30% methanol.
Thanks guys
Wanted to upgrade turbo but just can't justify paying that much in one hit atm. If my new turbos pops I might as well do it. Yeah have the chip, front mount, water injection, 3inch exhaust and moddified vt commo airbox.
Alright guys the v6 holden vt airbox will fit just have to modify the box a bit.
Firstly have to seal the intake hole on the box. (Haven't done that yet)
Then buy a flared 3 or 4 inch speaker port to connect snorkel too.
Then its just a matter of joining it up to the turbo.
Just need...
1x 3.5"...
Took the turbo back to bill at Adelaide turbo service. Awesome service again and one day turn around. Was a very happy customer. The repair cost me 560 and that was with a billet wheel replacement. Just got to fit it back on over the weekend.
Yeah I've read lots up on the 80 series airbox mod but it takes up so much room. I've got the ase front mount mount intercooler and the piping takes up a fair bit of room.
Yeah I saw a few alloy boxes fabed up to suit a gen3 panel filter. They look the goods but at a hefty price tag. 600 plus...
Hey guys,
Thinking about modifing either a ba falcon or vt holden air box to suit the nav. Wanting to fit a panel filter as they flow better imho. What's your thoughts? Going to be a challenge to hook up snorkel to it though!
Reason I'm looking into this is I struck an issue running a large water injector. It had caused a lot of blow by that foamed up and filled my catch can. I think some got past and was flowing into the turbo and caused heavy pitting to my new billet turbo wheel. I was shocked when I saw it seeming...
Ok guys as the title states... can this be done? Currently researching for places that might be able to convert our stock turbos to ball bearing type. Atm only found a place in the UK which I'm still awaiting for a reply to email.
Interested in your thoughts on this?
Ok Dave, crankcase does pressurized and exits but pulses flow. Provent helps regulate that flow and venting back to engine helps draw that unwanted mixture out the engine.
Yeah but the caught oil vapours in the intercooler once cooled turns back to oil and basically lines the cooler in oil. Long term oil turns acidic and I'm sure alloy doesnt like that to much.
So home jobby catch cans do work but they don't regulate air pressure like the provent can does which I think is important.
Hey rusty ya gota say those provent 200 are friggen huge ay!
I don't think venting to atmosphere is good either for too reasons.
1 - its polluting...
2 - I think it needs...
Hoping to get mine repaired with just a billet cartridge.
Keep hearing about guys fitting roller bearing turbos... this interests me but the price tag of around 2500 is just to much to spend I think. I think its a gt25 modified to fit. A lot of ****ing around I think. Might just settle for...
Hey guys,
Catch cans are a good idea but things to consider when fitting...
Placement is important... mount away from exhaust otherwise caught crankcase oil vapourizes and is possible to get drawn back through engine if not filtered defeating the purpose of installing one.
Non filtered catch...
Cheers lawry.
Ps, always had a catch but a cheap non filtered one. I'm now going to fit the provent and just for extra protection I'm going to feed in back before air filter.
Bad news guys!!
Just serviced the nav and wanted to check the turbo out. For those who don't know my turbo blew up about 4months ago and I replaced it with a new one with a billet turbine.
Anyway my new turbo has been damaged on the impeller! I think some of that foamed up oil managed to get...
