D22 YD25 staving / hesitant
Having trouble with my 2008 yd25 5speed manual. When I drive and accelerate in 3rd or 4th gear and get the rpm around the 2700 to 3000 it’s like it’s starving of something, (mate described it as key banging) if I keep my foot down and go past 3000 revs it seems to be ok, doesnt happen in 1st or 2nd. Car has gauges, egt seems to climb quickly, boost stays solid. Car has had egr blocked for a bout 4 years, has an oil catch can, other then that it’s stock. The things that have been changed, fuel filter when it was playing up on occasion bout 5000 km ago now all the time, replaced suction control valve, replaced maf sensor, replaced neutral position switch. Running out of ideas, any ideas would be great. Cheers

Boost control solenoid? Try some quality genuine different ones..

Clean all the EGR pipes and the sensor?
could make a difference even tho blocked..

FRP Sensor, fuel rail pressure sensor?
Might make a difference changing it..

Do the Fuel pump/ecu reset trick?
Undo negative terminal on battery.
Get in car, hold down brake for 25-30 seconds to drain residual current from computer etc...
Connect Neg battery terminal back up.
Start it up & go for a 15+ minute drive without hard acceleration or flooring it..
Just a general cruise around,
to let it relearn the pressures & gen cruising speeds & then pull up & turn it off & remove the keys. Go shopping or something.
Come back n drive it home.
That should always been done after a new SCV & FRP. wouldn't hurt to do after any new parts fitted related to fuel and boost and engine

Thanks for the reply, turns out we put another genuine fuel filter in and fix the problem, I will pull the old apart and see what sort of muck is in there, might be time to drop the tank and inspect. Cheers
