just wondering if my 04 zd30 has a pcv?
the reason i ask is that my nav which has now been christened "the t'nuc" apparently has extreme blowby, it has only 3000k on a rebuilt motor and has blown the rocker cover gasket and the seals around the injector ports.
i don't have access to the blessed thing as it is in Perth and i am in Hobart.
the person l left with the babysitting job has very little mechanical knowledge (to the point that he couldn't find the turbo) so i cant ask him to do any trouble shooting for me.
his mechanic of choice has told me that he thinks its the rings but i'm not too sure that might be the case (at least i bloody hope not)
so i'm thinking maybe failed pcv, glazed bores or a seal in the turbo.
no smoke however and the boost gauge is reading all normal
i've done the egr blank but not the butterfly mod or any of the vacuum line re-routes, it has a cheap chinese turbo on it that has caused me much heartache in the past but retains the oem actuator.
i need to get this fixed so i can drive it back to hobart but his mechanic says no way while my mechanic who has not seen it but when i explained it to him said his first thoughts were glazed bores and that driving it would be fine and with a little ajax i could sort it out but not to deglaze it with water given the navaras appetite for pistons.
any thoughts?
