YD25 Soot

Hey we have YD25 2009 D22

Blowing soot on acceleration

Blocked EGR, replaced intercooler, new air cleaner

Tight motor, plenty of power and runs well but soot, more worried about the cops

Any suggestions?

In Australia the cops are only worried about continual smoke. If it stops smoking after a few seconds they let it go.

Without a DPF you're unlikely to get rid of the soot altogether, injector clean and a MAFS clean might help a little. With a DPF you're going to have other fun that you really don't want.

Also consider flushing the intercooler (petrol is good).

it tends to be a common problem when changing fuel filters and not resetting the fuel data.
or its been chipped. they are a low power motor so no one typically says the power is good.
