Did similar with mine. The you don't really need to give them an initial torque, just do them up so the seal seats into the back of the hub. The back right off and do up to something like 1nm... I just did mine up until the locknut was snug on the bearing and then lined up with the closest hole on the locking ring. From memory they ended up lining back up with the red marks that were still on the locking ring and retaining screws that were there from the factory...
